A new retirement community in Ashkelon promises luxurious beachfront life

In Ashkelon, a brand-new, opulent retirement community will be completed in August 2022.

This month, work began on a brand-new, opulent retirement community in Ashkelon that has a view of the Mediterranean Sea. Within two years, 4 apartment buildings with a total of about 160 flats will be finished, establishing an elderly renters' hamlet within the coastal city.

The project joins about 80 senior living complexes across the nation and pledges to be as excellent as or better as American senior living. These provide a variety of services, ranging from simple generational living arrangements to greatest care for seniors with illnesses like Alzheimer's. For people who live independently, there are additional 180-day facilities that provide social interaction and activities.

According to population estimates released earlier this year, Israel is a young nation, with children between the ages of 0 and 14 making up approximately a third of the country's total population. However, there are currently 1.14 million persons and over age of 65, or roughly 12% of the population, and this figure is expected to rise.

The government is planning to create tiny houses and long-term rent apartments, among other things. These initiatives can assist to accommodate elderly people, a lot of whom are eager to keep their independence. However, other evidence suggests that as people age, living in a retirement home has advantages, particularly if movement and loneliness become problems.

According to David Zwebner, a longtime Ashkelon real estate broker who is in charge of advertising for such new retirement village, the newest Ashkelon project was influenced by senior communities in the United States.

As we are offering individual flats, the village "will not simply be a home, it will be community that can live a high standard of living together," Zwebner added.

"We are basing the plan on the greatest geriatric care in the United States, which has pioneered retirement villages. It's for the active senior who wants a beachside home where they may live life to the fullest even as they age and continue to enjoy it as long as possible.

The project will offer one, two, or three bedroom flats, each with two bathrooms, ranging in size from 65 to 95 sq.m. Along with additional common areas for ongoing community events, there will be sizable indoor swimming pool, a gymnasium, a massage, and a jacuzzi. According to Zwebner, there will be a nurse who lives on-site continuously, medical facilities that are open around-the-clock, and food that can be ordered as needed.

According to him, there aren't age constraints on who is able to invest in the project; those who are able to live there are. Therefore, buying an apartment inside the complex is an option for investors or kids with elderly parents.

The development is only accessible to current Ashkelon residents during the first month, and they also get a 5% discount for investing early. After that, the idea will be promoted throughout Israel as well as in South African, American, and European communities.

Zwebner claimed he intended to persuade retirees to relocate to Israel and also to pick Ashkelon as their new home since he thinks it is one of the nation's most underappreciated regions.

Apartments will be purchased entirely and leased to individual owners for a price ranging from NIS 1,500,000 ($463,042) to NIS 1,900,000 ($586,519). Like many retirement communities, there will be monthly service fee of NIS 3,900 ($1,204) to reflect the variety of resources that are centrally supplied.

Affordability isn't the only admittance requirement, according to Zwebner. In order to make sure that village functions properly as a community and that we uphold standards, there will be committee to screen and approve people. If we succeed in doing that, we'll build something truly unique for everybody who lives there, he said.
